NEW GOLD ZONES ON THE FRENCH CAMP TREND AT THE PASSENDRO PROJECT AREA,CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

Toronto, Ontario – AXMIN Inc. (AXM-TSX Venture) is pleased to announce the discovery of a further three new bodies of gold mineralisation along the “French Camp Trend” on its Passendro project. Each zone has the potential for a strike length of at least 800 metres, as defined by gold in soil anomalies now tested by reconnaissance rotary air blast (“RAB”) drilling. In addition, at the French Camp prospect itself, a step-out line of holes showed strong gold values, including 15.2 g/t Au over the full 17 metre length of the drill hole. The Passendro project area is underlain by Archean greenstones and banded ironstone formations (“BIF”), and lies within the 2,000 sq km Bambari permit in Central African Republic.

“These results, combined with the prospects reported on July 25, 2002 in the Main Zone Trend, confirm the excellent resource potential for the Passendro project area,” said Dr. Jonathan Forster, Chief Executive Officer. “To date, seven substantial follow up drill targets have been highlighted within a five kilometre radius. This includes the Main Zone and French Camp prospects where gold bearing structures of economic significance have already been identified.”

Drilling was completed along of a series of fences of RAB holes set at 20 metre intervals and drilled vertically to depths of typically 17-20 metres to identify the deep geochemical “gold haloes” that develop around sub vertical gold mineralised structures. Previous work has shown that “halo grades” of around 0.4 g/t Au and above can reflect the signature from nearby gold structures of economic significance. By identifying the gold halo, subsequent angled drilling using both reverse circulation (“RC”) and coring techniques can be efficiently focused to enable the true grades and widths of the structures to be determined.

The following table briefly summarises the gold prospects at Passendro to date:

Passendro Area   Dimensions   Results

Main Zone Trend 5 km NW trending series of gold soil anomalies.

Main Zone   7,000 m RC drilled over a 1.6 km strike.   Multiple parallel gold zones over 100-300m wide corridor with widths of 2-15 m and an average composite grade of 2.9g/t Au.

Main Zone-South Extension   13 RAB holes drilled 320 m along strike to SE of Main Zone. With a soil anomaly that could extend Main Zone over 800 m to the south.   Strong gold halo over 140 m width.

Katsia prospect   41 RAB holes on 4 fences, drilled 1.2 km ESE of Main Zone, the prospect has been identified over 800 m length, open along strike. Soil geochemistry suggests a potential 1.5 km strike.
Very strong gold halo defines two parallel
structures over widths of 70 m and 60 m.

French Camp Trend
7 km NNW trending series of gold soil anomalies.

French Camp Zone

1,000 m RC drilled over 480 m strike, open at depth and along strike.   Multiple gold bearing zones, over widths up to 15 m with average composite grade of 3.2 g/t Au.

24 RAB holes drilled on 3 fences, soil geochemistry suggests a potential of 800 m strike.
  Very strong gold halo over 120 m wide corridor 80 m NW of RC mineralisation. RAB includes 15.2 g/t Au over 17 m, 2.5 g/t Au over 20 m, 1.3 g/t Au over 10 m, 0.4 g/t Au over 17 m, 2.1 g/t Au over 20 m, 1.6 g/t Au over 20 m and 1.2 g/t Au over 20 m.

Baceta prospect*
28 holes on 3 RAB fences tested a 1.2 km soil anomaly, 3.5 km NW of French Camp.   A strong gold halo over 40 m wide corridor identified over 800 m strike with intersections that include 3.9 g/t Au over 10 m, 1.8 g/t Au over 15 m, and 1.8 g/t Au over 5 m.

Ngodo prospect*   29 holes on 2 RAB fences tested a 1.2 km soil anomaly, 2.0 km NW of French Camp. Prospect lies at head of drainage that was intensely mined in 1940-50s.   Identified a 20-40 m wide gold halo.

Ngetepe prospect*   18 holes on 2 RAB fences tested 800 m gold soil anomaly that lies 1.2 km SE of French Camp. Prospect lies at head of drainage that was intensely mined in 1940-50s.   Identified a 20-40 m wide gold halo.

French Camp North   7 RAB holes tested 500 m gold soil anomaly, 500 m north of French Camp. Difficult terrain.   Poor access prevented testing of main part of anomaly.

* New Discovery

A very favourable opportunity has now been created by this successful RAB drilling program to build a substantial resource base at the Passendro project. A major RC and core drilling program is planned for 2003. Meanwhile, further RAB drilling utilising the AXMIN owned drill rig will recommence during the last quarter of 2002 with the objective of both extending known gold zones and testing new targets in the Passendro area.

The sampling methodology involved the compositing of 1 metre samples into 5 metre laboratory samples, with gold analysed by 50 gram aqua regia digest with AAS finish and 10% check by 50 gram fire assay at the independent OMAC Ltd laboratory in Ireland, where standard internal quality control procedures were utilised.
