
George Roach President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Roach, the former President and CEO of AfNat, has been involved in the mineral exploration industry in sub-Saharan Africa for many years. He has extensive experience in securing and establishing mineral exploration tenure and operations throughout Africa namely, Central African Republic, South Africa, Chad, Mali, Namibia, Zambia and Tanzania to a name a few. Mr. Roach was a founding Director and Managing Director Africa for UraMin Inc., a uranium resource company with operations in Namibia, South Africa and Central African Republic. UraMin was sold for US$2.5 billion in 2007 to Areva. Mr. Roach maintains interests in G&B African Resources Ltd, a mineral exploration company and in African agricultural projects, including a sugar estate in CAR under development and spice trading and milling operations in South Africa.
Graham Hill Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hill, a Mechanical Engineer, has over 25 years of experience in the mining industry building and operating major gold, coal and mineral sands projects in Africa and Central Asia. His expertise includes senior level technical and project development positions, primarily in the gold sector. He has been integral in the technical and financial planning, construction and ongoing mine management for many successful projects. Most recently, Mr. Hill was involved in the development of Oxus Resources Amantaytau Goldfields Project in Uzbekistan and Jerooy Gold Project in Kyrgyzstan. Previously, Graham worked at Anglo American Corporation on various senior operation levels including, Project Manager for the Sadiola and Yatela Gold Mines in Mali, Project Area Manager for Namakwa Minerals Sands Project and Project Engineer for its Coal Division both located in South Africa.
Janina Dusza Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Dusza has over 16 years of financial experience working for both, private and public companies. In addition to her financial reporting experience, Ms. Dusza has a well acknowledged auditing experience primarily in the resource sector with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Toronto. Ms. Dusza has advanced knowledge of Canadian GAAP and IFRS regulations. Most recently, Ms. Dusza was AXMIN’s corporate controller since June, 2009 and previous to that she practised as an independent financial consultant along with auditing experience and accounting positions in Mid-North Engineering Services and Europe Bound. Ms. Dusza received her BComm in Accounting from the Ryerson Polytechnic University and also holds a CPA designation.
Shirley Kozel Corporate Secretary
Ms Kozel has over 20 years of corporate secretarial experience. She previously acted as corporate secretary with four senior mining companies, being Corona Corporation, Campbell Resources, Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting and Anglo American Corporation of Canada, listed on North American and European stock exchanges.
Mike Edwards Project Director
Mr. Edwards, a Senior Project Director with over 40 years expereince, 25 of which were in high-level positions, managing the construction and evelopment of major mining, hydroelectric, civil and eathworks projects primarily throughout sub-Saharan Africa. As Senior VP Projects for MagIndustries Corp., Mike was responsible for the Group’s hydroelectric, mining and forestry projects in central Africa. Prior to that Mike was Divisional Director at Grinaker-LTA, a South African construction and engineering group focused on infrastructure, energy and mining projects. Over the 22 years with Grinaker-LTA, Mike was responsible for major studies and construction of many civil and mining projects including the 870 km gas pipeline from South Africa to Mozambique, Phase I of the Tarkwa Gold Mine project in Ghana and the Sadiola Gold Mine in Mali.
Geoff McLoughlin Engineering Manager
Mr. McLoughlin, aprocess Metallurgist, has over 25 years senior level design and operational experience with gold mining projects and operations throughout central Asia and Africa. As Chief Metallurgist for MAED Limited, Geoff’s experience included the design and commissioning of metallurgical operations for several gold operations in Central Asia. In particular, as Metallurgical Process Manager at the Amantaytau Goldfields 1 mtpa Milling Leach CIP operation; Geoff took the project from commissioning to a production capacity 60% higher than designed on budget and on time. Prior to that, Geoff was responsible for managing the Phase I and II of expansions at Randgold’s Syama Gold Mine in Mali, and was Plant Manager for four of Harmony Gold’s South African gold mines. Geoff has considerable recent experience in gold plant project implementation by leading the process as well as engineering design.
Ms. Webster Vice President, Investor Relations
Ms Webster comes to AXMIN with extensive experience in the field of investor relations. Prior to joining AXMIN in 2001 Ms Webster worked as an relations professional managing IR programs for many publicly listed companies. Ms Webster also brings a valuable background as a manager at a major Canadian newswire service and as Senior Geologist for one of Canada's largest mining consulting firms. Ms Webster holds a BSc in Geological Sciences from McMaster University (Canada).
